/etc/rc.d/rc.pppoe in Slackware 12.1


I setting-up connection with my ISP. But now i don't now how start up pppoe-start. In /etc/rc.d/ no any scripts for it. Yes, i may start it from /etc/rc.d/rc.local, but how make it in slackware-way?

Thanks for any advise.. and sorry for my bad english =)

First you will have to run
Code:
pppoe-setup
to configure your pppoe connection. Then restart the /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 and rc.inet2 scripts (probably you could go without restarting some of them,but I am not sure which, so you'd better restart both). Then "pppoe-start"should be successful and your internet connection should be up and running. See man pppoe for more information.

To set up a pppoe connection in slackware run "pppoe-setup" as root. When it is configured run "pppoe-start". See this thread:

Rp-pppoe is in slackware/n if you don't have it installed:

Some DSL modems enable you to enter your DSL username and password directly into the routers configuration. Check your routers documentation to see if this is possible.
