Epson wf-3520 printer goes through the motion but, dosen't print.
I installed the slackbuilds epson escpr 1.7.8 script. That didn't work. Then I followed the slackware cups docs and made the file /etc/rc.d/rc.cups executable: "chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.cups
/etc/rc.d/rc.cups start"
No joy.
The printer sounds like it's trying to print, but no ink on paper.
Any help would be appreciated.
If this is a network connected printer, then you could try using the CUPS everywhere driver. To get the IPP URI, you can do this. There are many Epson printers that support this.
Search this forum and you will find that many people have installed Epson printers.
“None of this is any help” provides no useful information.
You have not indicated whether you are using a USB or network connection.
Go fish
I've read these damn tutorials, none of this works! It's a usb printer. I've tried the slackbuilds driver, I've tried setting up in cups. No joy! I've tried a nine year old slackware linuxquestions answer for slackware 4 build. Nothing works. What does work is using a newer version of linux. Screw Slackware.

I've always found the cups setup guide far from userfriendly. I use the Mate desktop and have installed both Epson and Canon printer using Mate's own printer setting tool. Guess there's an equivalent in KDE (sytem settings > printer configuration) as well as in xfce (xfce-settings>printer) that could be worth trying out.
