I have got slackware 10 on my computer and everything is going well. All i need to do is set up my printer, i am confused as i dont know how to do this. I know the driver is built in and i am using USB to connect. Any ideas how to get slackware to notice its there???
Try
chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.cups
/etc/rc.d/rc.cups start
open url http://localhost:631 in a web browser, enter root passord when it ask for it then add a printer and choose your driver.
i have cups installed and i've installed it up to that point the thing is i dont know where the driver is in order to install it or what to write. <<WARNING SERIOUS NOOB>> sorry
If you are not redirected to your local cups admin pages, your cups installation is not complete or cupsd is not running. try ' /etc/rc.d/rc.cups start ' in this case.
