Disable SCIM

SCIM - today I upgraded Slackware-current & along came scim, which I find very annoying. It mucked up my rxvts & who knows what else since I was only using rxvt & emacs at the time.

So, I tracked scim startup into directory /etc/profile.d. I created a subdirectory called "donotwant" & moved scim.csh & scim.sh into "donotwant". Note ya gotta "sudo" or log in as root to do this.

I logged out, logged in & now I'm back to normal.

I assume I'll have to perform this little feat after future upgrades as well.

All you have to do to disable scim is, as root: (inside the /etc/profile.d directory)

#chmod -x scim.*
and reboot.
That turns it off and it stays that way forever.

Scim is a pain but I liked it. But scim doesnt support qt5, and I need chinese in qt5 sometimes, so I have gone to fcitx and get along
with it well enough.
