Current no updates for 8 days

The latest Current{,64} changelogs read:
Code:
Sat Aug 7 19:04:04 UTC 2021
.....
Today is Sun Aug 15 -- so no updates for 8 days!
Is Patrick ill, on holiday, preparing the 15.0 release or whatever?

Hey, it's frozen! That suggests to me that the new release is about to hit the track.

It's vacation time for many
No frozen, but the beer is probably cold
But a RC1 would be welcome

In French:
Tout vient à point pour qui sait attendre.
Translated by deepl.com:
Everything comes in time for those who know how to wait.
translated by translate.google.fr:
Everything comes to those who wait

For Eric and burdi01:
Alles komt naar degenen die wachten (google)
Alle dingen komen op tijd voor hen die wachten (deepl)

I figured he's taken some well deserved time off and is in nothern Minnesota, camped at a lake and whacking state birds (mosquitos) with a badminton racket.

Glib.c: loadable library and perl binaries are mismatched (got handshake key 0xed00080, needed 0xeb00080)

I tried to compile perl and get a similar error down the tool chain. Seems like a fairly large oops to leave for 8 days.

Slackware-current being provided only for testing, I disagree.

I'm guessing the BDFL is out on a lake somewhere, enjoying a brew, some fishing, and decent weather.

It's interesting to read the doublethink observed here.

Whenever someone came whining that stable was too old, they were told to use -current as it was very stable. Now someone complains of an issue in -current and the response is that -current is for testing only.

For the record, i understand both points, I just got tired of reading the same stuff over and over again. Hopefully 15.0 is here soon and we get back to how things should be: use stable for production, not being forced to use current due to hardware demands.

I can't find anyone who was forced to use Slackware
Slackware-current is not the only distribution that supports modern hardware
But if you choose to use -current, you have to accept the constraints
