Configure slackpkg to use local source

I have just installed slackpkg, and have downloaded the current updates from a Slackware 12 mirror. I have created a local folder in /usr/local/repository that mirrors the structure of the updates folder on the ftp mirror, and placed the files there. When I opened the configuration file for slackpkg, I noticed that there was an entry for a local CD drive, but not for a folder. I attempted to put in the following line:

/usr/local/repository/patches/packages

but slackpkg did not see this. Has anyone else gotten slackpkg to work with a local folder and, if so, what entry did you place in the configuration file for this to work. Thanks for any assistance.

By the way, the reason I am doing this is because my Slackware 12 machine is on dial-up (at home), and I can obtain the updates from another machine (at work) for off-line updating.

Proper syntax is as follows:
Code:
cdrom://home/slackware/slackware-12.0/
In other words, use the "cdrom:/" syntax for any directory, not just an optical drive.
