Capturing video with Cinelerra works, capturing video with Xawtv doesn't!

Hi! I am using slackware 9.1 and wonder why I am able to capture video when
using cinelerra, but if I try to capture using xawtv, I get the following error:

This is xawtv-3.92, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.22)
WARNING: Your X-Server has no DGA support.
WARNING: couldn't find framebuffer base address, try manual
configuration ("v4l-conf -a <addr>")
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*"
to type FontStruct
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
ioctl: VIDIOCCAPTURE(int=1): Invalid argument
ioctl: VIDIOCCAPTURE(int=0): Invalid argument
oss: open /dev/dsp: Permission denied

I don't understand what is meant by the second warning... address??? I guess I
don't understand most of it....
tnx and all the best

Neil
