I tried compiling wxGTK and wxPython myself, and all seemed to go well. The only problem i had was neither one worked

So I unistalled both, and tried wxGTK from linux packages.net. I still couldn't compile the wxGTK demos, nor the samples in the wxGTK dir.
I followed the directions in this post

and tried "import wxPython" from pythons interactive shell, and wx spits back alot of errors. (I had errors during the install as well)

I'm at a loss at what to do now. I'm hoping someone has a working package for both wxGTK and wxPython.

Well, I've used wx packages from linuxpackages.net and didn't have a problem, try installing also wxBase from that site.

i didn't try the base just the gtk. I'll give it a shot.

I use the wxGTK package from linuxpackages. For wxPython I downloaded an official RPM package from their site and used rpm2tgz to convert it.
