I just upgraded to Current and am not able to open X menus with a mouse click, only by keyboard shortcuts. Once the drop-down menu is visible it does respond to mouse clicks. I am baffled.

Reason: Update
Window Maker and TWM, same result, as root or normal user, trackpad or USB mouse. xorg.conf has not been changed. I'm going to run the setup program and see if that'll fix whatever has been broken. Very strange.
Can't say that ever come across that problem yet, but I've been using flux and kde. Sounds like something is taking away focus and stopping mouse clicks. I did had some problems using xv to set background a long time back. Might also worth be looking at what programs are auto-starting. Maybe turn off bg image too.
Well, I went through the setup program, it didn't fix the problem. What's odd is that once a menu is opened from the keyboard then the menu items can be controlled by the mouse. Aah, just discovered something else. In Firefox I can control the address bar's drop-down menu. But that's all. I wonder if the upgrade left out some xorg packages.
maybe. I'm kind of wondering about mouse button setup. You dont get a menu opening by pressing other mouse buttons? I know that specifying wrong number can give errors...
I get the Window Maker menus using the center and right buttons of both the mouse and trackpad but not the context menus in Firefox and Thunderbird. I can also click the toolbar icons, it's just the top menu items (File, Edit, etc.) that are not responding. Could it be some kind of crazy permissions issue? Oh, and I did reinstall everything, no luck.

Reason: Omission
From xterm the apps open without error; from the non-x terminal "GTK error: cannot open display." I'm just going to reinstall everything, it'll be easier. Thanks for your help.
