What do you think, LC? Should we move 6.7 to /testing and revert, or not?
Argh :'-) I've recompiled my whole Plasma yesterday against official 6.7.1 . Also Plasma 6.1 releases on June 13th, not long ahead.
Well, in case I will just exclude the package from being downgraded.
slackware64-live-ktown-current image comes with all the required library versions to work out of the box;
plasma6 early adopters in Slackware are either using OP binary packages, OP source packages or self made source packages;
plasma6.0.5 compiles just fine with qt6.7;
plasma6.1 is weeks ahead and requires qt6.7 anyway;
IMHO just let 6.7 be in the main tree. Advanced users playing with bleeding edge stuff like all the ones posting on this thread can handle any time being issues until plasma6.1 is ready for departure.
kdenlive, spectacle, depends also of opencv, these three packages are compiled with opencv, and also, with qt6. even if it has no real impact, it seems to me that it is cleaner
here all is updated ( deps, plasma-extra, applications-extra, frameworks, plasma, gear ), I think I'll do it, like 'Eric' would do.
I don't understand why you insist on this antagonism you are doing between LuckyCyborg and Mr. Hameleers.
As far as I know, I assure you that LuckyCyborg does not have the slightest intention of taking over KTown, on the contrary, he is trying to help Mr. Hameleers starting from the assumption that he is convalescing after COVID.
That's why, for example, he insists on using Qt6 from Slackware-current, instead of distributing his own version of Qt6. Because in his blog Mr. Hameleers announced his intention to use Qt6 in this way.
On the other hand, although it is not believable for Westerners, who usually think only of their bellies, he wants Slackers to have Plasma6 available, even when Mr. Hameleers is on hiatus. He thinks in terms like "Greater Good" and "for the benefit of the community" , which terms I know that are currently untranslatable for many of those who live in Western Europe or America.
Believe it or not, he really wants those who use Slackware to have latest Plasma6 available if they want to try it. Blame the cultural differences.

As the English say, the devil hides behind the details. That's why it would be very interesting to see practically these small changes and details that you yourself have made.

There is no antagonism, perhaps I express myself badly in English, I know very well that Eric will take over the ktown, if I insist on the updates, it is because certain are necessary, to compile plasma updates.
