browser cannot find JavaVM

Mozilla, Konqueror, and Netscape cannot find Java installed on my system. At first i thought it wasn't installed at all, so i downloaded the JavaVM file from Sun and installed it fine. So i went to the java settings for the browsers and i changed the "java executable" directory to where I installed it. It still does not work. Is there some problem with the Sun Java virtual machine working under slackware? Or where is the java directory located for slack 9.0?

thanks,
Wes

cd /usr/lib/netscape/plugins
ln -s /usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so .

That should install java plugin for netscape. I found that java plugin already inside "/usr/lib/mozilla", but I never tested mozilla don't know, wut I've observed is that on netscape b4 I did the symbolic link of javaPlugin into that netscape plugin directory, when I pull out "Help -> about Plugin" the java plugin is not listed there.

The java plugin is not symbolic linked into /usr/netscape/plugin on version 9.1 & 9.1-current, I think that should be included into the do-install-script of the netscape-package.

The manpages and howtos are also obsoleted since 9.1 released, am wonder y no body upgraded that for the building of 9.1-current images, they must too busy ..
