boot loader troubles

I just finished installing slackware. But when i boot up i get:

GRUB Loading stage 1.5
Error 22

When i ran red hat, and when i played around with gentoo i used grub. Is it still present and how do i remove it?? I formatted my hardrive with 2 partitions. A root and a swap. I also tried using the boot disk made during install, but my pc only tries to boot from cdrom and not floppy. How can i fix this??

My system is:

Athlon XP 18 1.6 Ghz
256 Mb DDR
S3 prosavage 32 Mb Video
Soundblaster 128

Sorry I can't help you with GRUB but the order in which your PC looks for boot devices in controlled by your BIOS.

If you look in your BIOS settings you will find where you can change your boot order. In this case you would like to have the BIOS look to boot off the floppy prior to the hard drive.

GRUB may have been written to the MBR (Memory Boot Record).

Try this:

1) boot your system using a floppy which has access to fdisk
2) Run this command "fdisk /MBR"
3) Re-run lilo to load it into the mbr again.

Hope this helps.
Shaffin.
