As a first incomplete answer, here are quotes from openSUSE forum Wayland vs Full-Wayland

The difference is that "Plasma (Wayland)" gives a much more stable desktop - comparable with X11/Plasma5 today, leaving the applications to chose if they use the native Wayland or XCB (X11 via XWayland) because today the Plasma5 and Qt5 applications are on various stages of porting to Wayland.

The disadvantage is that's a bit slower compared with the other method, because the XWayland is often used.

The other one, "Plasma (Full Wayland)" forces the usage of native Wayland usage unconditionally, and in practice this results on a considerable less stable desktop. It's advantage is that's a bit faster, because the XWayland is less used.

This way of building and setting up the Wayland/Plasma5 was borrowed from openSUSE, where it's used since many years with great success.

Thanks , i recover my fn keys , removing all files under $HOME/.config , related to plasma desktop , and now all fn keys works again.

Sorry for noise guys.

Thanks @gegechris99 and @LuckyCyborg -- very informative answers.

Right now I can't use (yet) Full Wayland -- Qt5 apps cannot show menus, for example.
Wayland (not full) is quite usable, but I still am getting artifacts. Among the strange ones is that I cannot get Claws-Mail to show in the taskbar despite being active and running.
But these are minor annoyances; I'd say that Wayland is quite usable right now.

After last plasma updates, my dolphin crash when try mount partitions from panel

Im alone ?

Type of partition are not relevant , i have ntfs and ext4 partitions, dolphin crash with all.

This just happened to me. I updated current a few hours ago.

I mounted a HD with music and movies from Konsole using the command line and everything crashed one after another with the popups asking to restart the app. I.e. dolphin, konqueror, kwrite etc...

On top of that after ctrl-alt-backspace'ing out and logging back in Plasma crashed on startup every time until I unmounted the disk and everything is back to normal.

Everything was working and mounting just fine before latest current plasma updates.
