Alien bobs Libreoffice 4.1.2, spell checker not working in slackware64-current rc2
Hi all,
I am running slackware-current rc2 and I have installed libreoffice 4.1.2 from alien bobs repository http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slac...ce/pkg64/14.0/ I have not been able to get the spell checker to work, does it work for anyone else?
I believe that libreoffice uses hunspell for spell checking, if I look in "Tools->Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids" there is nothing listed under "Available language modules" and I am unable to find a way of adding anything. hunspell appears to be installed and I have tried removing and re-installing libreoffice, I'm a bit stuck with this one.
Any suggestion gratefully received.

All is working for me with the libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien.txz, libreoffice-dict-en-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien.txz and libreoffice-l10n-en_GB-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien.txz packages installed.
My grateful thanks to Alien Bob for continuing the hard work to make these Libreoffice releases available.

please note that since libreoffice 4.1, the dictionaries files are now split from the main application, so you need to install those libraries file

I am having the same issue. I have this package install, but I still can't get spell checker to work:
Code:
libreoffice-dict-en-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien
Granted, these packages were built for 14.0 and I am using current. Maybe the problem is related to that?

Maybe a silly question, but did you verify the integrity of the packages that you downloaded?
e.g. 'md5sum -c libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien.txz.md5' and 'gpg2 --verify libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64-1alien.txz.asc'

A big thank you for all of your suggestions, I now have a working spell checker:-)
I not entirely sure which step(s) fixed this but here are the steps I took:
1) Using pkgtool remove libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64, libreoffice-dict-en-4.1.2 and libreoffice-l10n-en_GB
2) Delete /home/chris/.config/libreoffice
3) Re-instate original /etc/rc.d/rc.M (I run a modified rc.M to prevent shared lib links and cache updates on SSD)
4) Shamefully I re-booted.
5) Installed libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64, libreoffice-dict-en-4.1.2 and libreoffice-l10n-en_GB using installpkg.
6) Started libreoffice and spell check is working.
Now when I go to "Tools->Language->For Selection" I see only English (UK) listed whereas my previous installs would list English (UK) and English (USA). Also "Tools->Option->Language Settings->Writing Aids" lists Hunspell + other language modules whereas previously this was empty.
It may be worth noting that my home directory is on a separate partition so the .config/libreoffice will have been carried over from my Slackware 14.0 32bit install where I was running libreoffice 4.0.4, I'm now running 64bit.
I should also say that the previous install order was libreoffice-4.1.2-x86_64, libreoffice-l10n-en_GB I then ran libreoffice before finally installing libreoffice-dict-en-4.1.2. This time I installed libreoffice in the order outlined in step 5 above.
Once again thanks to all who took the time to reply, it is very much appreciated.
I have now marked this thread as solved.

The only step I did was to remove ~/.config/libreoffice. I wanted to do that first before going to the uninstall and install. Anyway, that worked. Thanks for pointing that out.
