Alien Bob wine-6.12 on -current does not work

I installed multilib, wine but say running winecfg gives this
Code:
$ winecfg
..........
wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135
.......
Edit: There are plenty others errors saying operation not permitted.

Edit: These are permissions problems. Under root winecfg works fine. Where these permission restrictions may come from?

That's...weird. What filesystem are you using? Where's your wineprefix located? It's not on something known not to work like an NTFS partition, is it?

I fixed this by deleting old prefix. Once it was removed winecfg created new prefix and now runs fine.

Edit: what I posted about root running winecfg was misguiding. I just should not use root account but first try account of another common user.

Yeah, old or crufty wineprefixes can cause issues. It's a good idea to back them up and recreate every now and then.
