Advise to buy a LapTop on a couple of mins

Hi all. In a couple of mins I will buy a new LapTop but I would like some suggestions and also if the hardware is compatible with slack 10.

HP dv1000 series:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 710 (1.4 GHz)
14.0" WXGA Widescreen (1280x768)
Intel(R) Extreme Graphics designed for Pentium(R)
256MB DDR SDRAM (1x256MB)
40 GB 4200 RPM Hard Driv
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive!

Currently I have a HP zv5000 but I really don't know if it will be a good chance to get the new one, the problem is that the currently is too big.

My Currently HP:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8
15.4 WXGA Widescreen (1280x768)
ATI radeon IGP 9000 Mobility
512 RAM

Thanks in advance.

Rule of thumb is that older models will work, brand new ones may not work 100%, depending on the novelty of components and the level of interest of hardware makers in linux support.
