2.6 kernel

Hey, I am thinking about using the 2.6 kernel.. though i have never done a kernel compile before.. so i thought i might use DaOneś post for compiling a new kernel.. however I was just wondering if I need slackware packages for kernel source kernel headers etc, like the 2.4.22 and 2.4.24 kernels have?

well of course..
how do you expect to compile the new kernel, if you don't have the kernel source ?
