2.6.1 kernel upgrade finished ... nvidia next, what to

... think about before I mess up my system?

Will the drivers from http://www.sh.nu/download/nvidia/2.6 do the trick or should I take another turn?

ive havent had problems with those drivers. You must be carefull though, follow the instructions carefully depending on what you r doing, (building an installer, using 2.4 and 2.6 kernels with nvidia on the same system, etc...)

the packages found at: http://www.sh.nu/download/nvidia/linux-2.6/

are installers that use the minion.de patches.

on http://www.sh.nu/download/nvidia/linux-2.6/ you read:

These are ready-to-go Nvidia installers for kernel 2.6 made by Christian Zander
(http://minion.de/nvidia.html). No need to patch anything. Simply run them as you
would the 2.4 version Nvidia installers.

Now, if you have a 2.4 kernel running with an nvidia modules installed on your machine, a nvidia 2.6 installer might desinstall the 2.4 kernel modules. You would want to use another patch, or you might want to build your own package. All the infos about the different install options are at www.minion.de

If you your sistem is a fresh 2.6 kernel install without any 2.4 kernel using X with nvidia support, you can use those installers as you would use a official nvidia installer.
