Mouse speed/sensitivity adjustment disabled mouse altogether (Fedora 32) and my ability to change that setting

I was adjusting the mouse speed and sensitivity and, unfortunately, I hit on a combination that ended up disabing all mouse movement. Now, whenever I login, that no-mouse-movement setting takes effect and my only way out is to reboot, again. However, that lead me to an even worse problem - Fedora 32 gnome login screen only prompts with my username and I need to login as root to fix the mouse issue.

QUESTION: Is there a way to change the login prompt to root without logging in?

Are you not able to login using your username and then use sudo to fix the mouse issue?
I guess you need to know the program name that you want to run and do that from a console.
e.g open a console window

sudo
progname &

then do the doings.

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks, Terry. Your words gave me a hint that helped get me part of the way. Since I could still use the righthand mouse button to bring up a terminal, I at least have keyboard input. I still need to figure out a way to change the mouse setting using a command line. If there is, I can use vi or vim to make the changes.

QUESTION: Is there an ascii file holding my mouse settings (Fedora 32)?

Smile OK, pilot error revealed.

Sorry for the fire drill. The cursor was moving all the time, but only a couple of pixels at a time per swipe all the way across the desk. It just took a lota swipes, but I finally got back to the ~/System/Preferences/HW/Mouse - Pointer Speed slide.

End of story...
