clearly he didn't want to run KDE (and no one should ever want to...) are you just trying to trick him?

The problem is, they said they wanted to use GNOME. Installing KDE won't help him run Gnome. Maybe you could suggest they install Win7 too?

I don't see any where written "wanted to use GNOME" How about leaving it to the OP what he/she wants to use?

if you want to continue with GNOME and not KDE which I prefer then you can try this command
Code:
#yum groupinstall "X Window System" "GNOME Desktop Environment"

it's not odd at all. It's just a **Non-fatal** glitch in the gtk-update-icon-cache program. If you google for that string, you'll see bug fixes from redhat just muting the errors and moving on. it's not going to cause you any problems. How can you say the problem "still exists" when you're just repeating the original messages?

How can you say that no one ever want to use KDE? What do you say do you bet with me?

Maybe you could suggest they install Win7 too?
How can you say deepak could suggest OP to use Windows 7?

See where it's written now? The OP *DID* say they wanted Gnome.

Kind of like you decided to speak for ME in another thread?

OP, as acid_kewpie has said, those are just warnings. How are you trying to start X? Have you tried typing in "startx", or "init 5", after doing the installation?

Once try to remove the gnome desktop environment and then reinstall it again.

Code:
# yum groupremove "GNOME Desktop Environment"
then,

Code:
# yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"
