this is from a previous post.. and its exactly where im at (the grey screen with a mouse cursor).. what i want to know is.. where and how do i set up the window manager.. thanks

edit it for more specific options, and go from there.
If it works, it will just bring up a grey screen with a mouse cursor in the
shape of an X, there will be no fancy anything, this is just the X server,

Now just type startx and you should be presented with the GNOME desktop environment
