Exclamation RedHat 9 on Mac virtual PC

Hi, I'm new on the forum,

Since I'm not experienced with installing linux systems, I wanted to ask you about this warning I received during installation of RedHat 9 on mac virtual PC 6 (host operating system is OS X):

"The partition table on device hda was unreadable. To create new partitions it must be initialized causing the loss of ALL DATA on tihs drive..."

Is this a message that always comes up when installing on virtual pc?
Or did I do something wrong while creating the new virtual mashine?

By "this drive" does the message mean the partition on virtual pc or really the whole hdr?
I just want to make sure I won't loose any data on the OSX system.
