RedHat 8 inittab setting

I am using RedHat 8 Enterprise in our office. It's default run level is set to 5. I boots in normal GUI welcome screen. After loggin in the GUI, if I use any terminal using crtl.+alt+F1 or F2 or etc., the GUI in F7 gets log out and shows login screen again. All the applications which were running in GUI were also closed. What change should me made?

when you switch like that to the console you are changing runlevels. as you prolly know you can edit runlevels by enabling disabling the programs that you want to run at the particular runlevel.
i beleive gui has a toold to do that. so for the applications that you would like to use make sure you check that they are going to be running in both 5 and 3 runlevels.
