Red Hat 9 Install Error

I'm trying to install redhat 9 but keep getting the following:

----------begin
Running anaconda, the Red Hat Linux system installer - please wait...
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 465, in ?
skipMOuse Probe = skipmouseprobe)
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/rhpl/xserver.py", line 77, in probeHW
videohw = videocard.VideoCardInfo(skipDDCProbe=skipDDCProbe)
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/rhpl/videocard.py", line 552, in __init
__
self.orig_videocards = copy.deepcopy(self.videocards)
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'deepcopy'
install exited abnormally
sending termination signals...done
sending kill signals...done
-----------end

etc. etc. and shuts down

I've tried running the install with hardware probe turned off, I've tried disabling various hardware in the BIOS to see if that would make it work. Appears to be a video card thing. I have an Nvidia MX400. Ideas anyone?

By the way, my system is a Gigabyte MB 7VAXP, Athlon 1800
has onboard RAID, but I disable that in the BIOS
also tried disabling firewire to see if that would solve the problem, but it did not.

RE:

No, I have not come across a solution yet. I don't think I need to replace any hardware. I installed Debian just before this with no problems, Debian had drivers that ran my video card just fine. I think there is a way around the problem, but I haven't found it yet. I've tried installing using the "noprobe" option and also the "text" option, but to no avail. I have seen other post where people ran into this same problem on other machines with totall different hardware. I was wondering if it was a bad CD but it checked out just fine. If I do find a solution, I will post it. I found one post in German which I managed to translate that suggested the "noprobe" option, but as I said earlier, this didn't work.

RE: Redhat 9 Install Error

Well I finally found my solution out. I originally burned the media with a pioneer 107d dvd burner. (I burned 4 cds).

I was trying to install it on a Phillips CDRW 24x drive. I checked the media and it was fine. So I figured it couldn't have been the media.

Well, it lied to me. The phillips drive couldn't read it properly. I tried it in my Dvd drive and everything worked fine!!!

I was stumbling on google and found out it is a media problem with this error. My advice would be to try it out on a different drive or the source drive if you have it. Lesson to be learned, don't trust the media checker.

WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!

Thank you!

I am now typing this response on a new Red Hat 9 install. It was that durn Philips CD burner. I don't think I'm going to buy any more philips products, that's the second one I've had trouble with (and I only have two Philips products).

I read your post and saw that you had a Philips and so I booted off my DVD and it installed just fine.

Once again......thank you!
