Angry No module aic7xxx found for kernel 2.4.22?

Hi there,
I am running RedHat 9 with the 2.4.20-8 kernel, and have been trying to compile and run the 2.4.22 kernel, so I can use it with the patch for intersil prismgt wireless. Everything runs fine:

make menuconfig
make dep
make clean
make modules
make modules_install

but on make install i get the following error:

No module aic7xxx found for kernel 2.4.22
mkinitrd failed
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.22/arch/i386/boot'
make: *** [install] Error 2

and no initrd can be created. I have an AHA-2930CU scsi adapter that works fine with the original kernel, and i compiled the new one for scsi support, with the low level driver for the aic7xxx. Any ideas anyone? I've tried doing the /sbin/mkinitrd from /boot also, and get the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Howzit

it seems that u have left out a few steps in compiling the kernel goto this site www.tldp.org and do a search howto compile kernel. This will be easier than me going through all the steps e.g one of them are make bzImage then u have to make modules make install etc.

hi
thanks for the reply. Actually, i just forgot to write the make bzImage in the post, but i did do it in the actual process. I also did the make install, and got the output that i originally posted. I guess i didn't do a very good job in describing the problem. Sorry.
But, i tried doing it again without the scsi modules compiled, and that didn't work either. Any ideas?
