Need to mount a XFS NAS device

I am running RHEL 5. I want to mount a Buffalo Technologies NAS drive, IP 192.168.1.111. It is formatted XFS. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well, since it is a NAS, the filesystem on the device's drives doesn't actually matter. You aren't dealing with the actual FS, you are dealing with whatever protocol you are using to upload/download files to it.

To that end, you need to determine which protocol you are going to be using before you can actually mount it. You could use NFS, SMB/CIFS, FTP, SSH, etc, etc, etc. I am not familiar with the device in question, but it certainly supports SMB, and maybe even NFS.

Got it working. Thanks.

Your suggestion about SMB/CIFS lead to a lot of digging and experimenting. This is what I needed to manually mount the device:

mount.cifs //192.168.1.111/share /media/buffalo -o username=myuser,password=mypassword,rw

Thanks!

http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=79

both models support NFS, AFP, SMB/CIFS, and FTP.
