Maintaining RH 9 Security Tips
Hey experts,
I'm currently working my way out of newbie status (until I mess something else up), and I'm currently administrating a RedHat 9 machine. Now, I do agree that people should help support these distros by buying the boxed version ($50 is quite reasonable), but unfortunately the $50 I do not have right now. I've had this machine running for about 5 months, and it's beautiful. Now that I've become a little more active in reading forums, I keep seeing all these things about security vulnerabilities. My question is, other than joining the RedHat network, are there other ways for me to help maintain the security of my machine. While the computer is not the best machine out there, it does contain a lot of my research work, and is thus priceless to me. How do you experts go about making sure your machine is as secure as possible?
