kernel is driving me mad


The kernel is driving me mad, i get controversary information abou the kernel vesion with different commands.

I need to install some other stuff and once it is installed it always says me that it was compiled for a different version of linux and you have got a different version.

I am a newbie, any kind piece of information will be highly appriciated

2.4.25 is your kernel version


The 'rpm -q' results are kernels/source that have been installed via rpm and therefore the entries are in the rpm database.

Have you compiled your own Kernel recently or ran a online update and updated your kernel that way?

no i have got a system with linux installed from my BOSS and i am not allowed for the reinstallations


can you please find me from where i can find the kernel rpm for my linux verison?
