Intel Graphics Driver Needed - RHEL 5.9

I'm looking for a Intel graphics driver for "Intel GEN 3" controller. I'm running with the RHEL 5.9 64bit OS (I've tried the native kernel and 3.12.rc4). I've tried the drivers from "01.org", but these drivers were built for the latest releases of Fedora and Ubuntu.

I've contacted both Red Hat and Intel, and it does not seem that anyone has a driver to support this graphic controller.

Thanks,
John

What chipset is on that graphics card, and what kind of hardware is it in? What are your system specs? You mention the 01.org site, but that's for embedded systems. Is this an embedded system, laptop, desktop? And since you're using RHEL and say you've called Red Hat already, have you considered using the latest 6.4 RHEL, which may have the drivers you're looking for already?

Also, does your display not work at ALL, or are you looking for a specific resolution with X?

Have a look at http://elrepo.org They have a lot of drivers for various hardware for RHEL, CentOs, Scientific Linux etc. They provide some good documentation on how to identify your specific hardware.

I'm assuming by "Intel GEN 3" you mean the HD 4000 (or Ivy Bridge) set of graphics. To which I'll say it's very unlikely if you absolutely need RHEL 5. ELRepo does have an updated mesa and intel driver, but to my knowledge it's only for RHEL 6. I'd venture to say that you might be lucky to get the vesa driver working on RHEL 5.

HOW ????
the old rhel5 is using the 2.6 kernel
did you rebuild the os for a incompatible 3.12 kernel

also RHEL 5 ( 5.10 is current) is old it will not support NEW hardware
and there is NO Ivy Bridge support in any of the 2.6 kernels

it is new kernel version3 code

so if you want to use a 6+ year old operating system on new hardware
you will have VERY limited hardware support

if you need support for that built in " cpu/gpu - chip"
install a NEW operating system
like
OpenSUSE 12.3 or 13.1 soon
Linux Mint 15
Fedora 19 or 20 in a week
