You've run these successfully in Ubuntu - did you need to find drivers then?
IIRC - they should be in the kernel. Maybe your DSL kernel needs an update?

well the first thing i want to do is get internet working

i have previously installed damnsmall linux on one of my very old computers and ethernet worked out of the box

but with this computer i cant even get the ethernet working (nevermind wireless)

so i have located the wireless driver that i used for ubuntu (hoping that it would also work with damnsmall)

i put it on a cdrom but i cant figure out how to mount the cdrom from damnsmall

can anybody help me out

if i dont have internet and i cant mount my dvd drive then im screwed

Probably not - but... you didn't answer the questions:
