Installation problem of Red Hat Linux 9 with Cyrix III processor

hi to all

This is Maulik,
I am new subscriber of this valuable web site.In fact i am the great lover of Linux.I am very much impressed from its features points of view.
I have one problem and i am very much fad from it.
I am using Cyrix III Processor,128 RAM and 40 GB Hard Disk.
i want to install the Red Hat 9 on my system but the problem is once i click the enter after the first installation screen comes, kernal starts loading then initrd.img starts to loading and immediately the next screen comes and then my system hangs up .I man to say after loading of
vmlinuz...........
initrd.img...............
the next screen comes for a second like something uncompressing stuff for a second only and directly system hangs up..my monitor starts to blink only.
I have tried noprobe, lowres, noapic all etc. but no results.
i have windows XP as other OS and it works perfectly fine.no problem.
i am very frustrating..
could you please help me out in this matter.
please send me a mail if any one find any resolution. It will be great help for me.
please don't let my moral down to use red hat linux.
thanking you.
Maulik Shah.

hi,
I never try to use Cyrix III Processor, so I have no idea about your problem, but I recommend you to try FC1 or FC2. In fact, if you just have 128 MB memory I am suggesting you to install Slackware 10. It's very fast, very KISS.
