The http server used is probably apache.
Code:
man httpd
should give you some more information.

If I recall correctly, Red Hat tended to put apache's default HTML in somewhere like /home/httpd/html/ but I suspect with the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard it's been moved to somewhere else (/var or /svr I think).

You could try
Code:
rpm -ql apache | grep index.htm

If you're looking for the default test page for the httpd server, try here:

/etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf.

The default page may reside in /var/www/html

You should check you httpd.conf file and check where the document root is set to.
You can change this setting to point to where you html files are

###httpd.conf###

DocumentRoot "/var/www/html"

#############

This will tell you where apache is looking for your web pages!

Thank you

The default test page is " /var/www/error/noindex.html"

They leave the directory "/var/www/html" empty and we should put our index page there.

Thank you for your help
