how to remove httpd-2.0.40-21 on RH9

Hi,

I'm trying to take httpd-2.0.40-21 out of RedHat 9 (it's coming with RH9) order to install a compiled version.

I use:

rpm -e httpd-2.0.40-21

under root, and it gives:

error: Failed dependencies:
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_perl-1.99_07-5
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_python-3.0.1-3
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_ssl-2.0.40-21
.......

any way to stop these dependencies?

Thanks

Well, I suppose you could use rpm -e --nodeps httpd-2.0.40-21

However, I wouldn't recommend it. You'll have dependency issues like mad if you do. It's a long dependancy chain for httpd, but you're better off removing everything connected. BTW kudos for using a self-compiled version. If this is a production server, I recommend 1.3.27

Good Luck

Thanks, that worked:

I removed all relate dependences by
rpm -e mod_perl-1.99_07-5
rpm -e mod_python-3.0.1-3
...

Then
rpm -e httpd-2.0.40-21

It's pretty simple
