Install ntfs-3g. I use it in CentOS, Opensuse and Slackware, and it never gave me problems, also in writing files

i have installed ntfs-3g but it gives error
i follow same steps mentioned on site
#./configure
#make
#make install

but while mounting by
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda6 /Winfs
it gives error " FATAL : module fuse not found
ntfs-3g-mount: fuse device is missing , try modprobe fuse' as root

then i tried

#modprobe fuse
then it gives error
FATAL: Module fuse not found

Why din't you use the rpm to install?
In this case you should read some documentation about installation and package requirements.

Btw I think you should have in your kernel config CONFIG_FUSE_FS=m (or y), or install a separate package (probably fuser) in order to make it work.

By the error you received it seems none of this is true in your system, so you have to find the easiest solution.

Probably the best, instead of recompiling your kernel, is to use rpm, or yum, to install fuser so you are sure all necessary files are created for you, if you don't want to do all manually.

Or better, after uninstalling your version compiled from source, try using the official rpm at
http://marush.com/wp-content/uploads...44-el5i686.rpm
and see if it works.

Let us know if all went right... Bye
