Question How to make my own distribution?

Hi All,
Recently I have upgraded my redhat 9 kernel from the old one to the latest kernel 2.4.27 and I have done my own kernel configuration regarding my work, and as you know that this operation takes a very long time.

Now how can I make my own distribution CD of the redhat I just compiled so that I can install it easly on 100 machine?

is there a reference or tutorial that explaines clearly what I want?

Your help is highly apprecitaed

Regards
Bassam

Hi,

If your planning to install the redhat system u've built with custom kernel on 100 system's, you dont have to build a distribution.

All you need is software [eg. Norton Ghost or) G4L (https://sourceforge.net/projects/g4l) ] which can copy the image of one hard-disk onto any number of hard-disks, provided all the 100 systems are having the same hardware [eg. video card, soundcard, ethernet card.... ] (or) the kernel you have compiled has support for all the hardware you have.

I want to make my own distribution for company internal use which based on fedora
e.g. remove some of unnecessary packages,
add a default custom made wallpaper in kde/gnome desktop,
customize the gnome, kde splash screen with my own designed which has my company logo, etc
