How To Find SNMP version?

For RHEL 5 when I do a: snmpd -v I get:
NET-SNMP version: 5.3.2.2
Web: http://www.net-snmp.org/
Email: net-snmp-coders@lists.sourceforge.net

How do I determine if it's SNMPv3?

Thanks,

Ray

If you run "rpm -ql net-snmp" you'll see all the files installed by the net-snmp package. One of those should be: "/usr/share/doc/net-snmp-5.3.2.2/README.snmpv3" README files are typically text files you can read with your favorite editor (or cat, more or less commands or similar).

That file tells you how to setup SNMPV3.

So the "version" of the package is 5.3.2.2 but it "supports" snmpV3.

Thanks but the README file does not tell me the version or that it
"supports" snmpV3.... This is for a security audit and I'd feel much better if this box could spit out the version.

Isn't there a command I can issue to spit out the version?

The last time I had to determine the snmpV was a couple years ago and I used wireshark to look at the snmp messages. This time I do not have that luxury.

Thanks,
Ray

Oppss. I see there is a README specifically for V3. Sorry about that.
