how to do remote diff?

hi,
I tried to use diff command to compare folders in 6 different remote linux servers, my solution now is copy all folders to one linux server and then compare them. It works, but not smart.
anyone known how to remotly compare files or folders? Is there any remote version "diff" command?
thanks!

I would create filelists (using find for example), download them and diff the files' contents..if that's what you're looking for. Maybe you could mount the remote directories somehow too, but it sounds easier to create the filelists, maybe using a script..

Yea, i don't think you would be able to do a diff on the fly. But, you could:

1. If you diffing files in the same directory over and over, might as well NFS mount it.
2. write a simple shell script and just rsync the file and diff it. After it's done, rm -f <file>
