Help in understanding what this messages mean

I am getting the following messages by email from my external syslog server. These messages are from my BIND DNS Server which has been configured to send syslog to external syslog server and to send out emails. We are having a relay between the SMTP Server and BIND DNS Server

sSMTP[26562]: Unable to connect to abc.example.net:25

sSMTP[26562]: Cannot open abc.example.net:25

Looks like one of them may have port 25 blocked in the firewall. I'm not 100% sure what your setup is, but from what I read it looks like one machine sends the syslog to a central logging machine. The central logging machine then sends out emails? Or does the original machine send the syslog to the central machine and send out emails as well?
