error while opening konsole

Redhat 9
KDE 3.2.1

I get this error when trying to load konsole. I had 2 versions of ncurses installed. I uninstalled the older one. Only dependencies of the older version was pico, so I did rpm -e pico, then rpm -e ncurses-olderversion

I still have the newer version which has much much more dependencies, but now I get this error when trying to load konsole.

tput: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
tput: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[royal@localhost royal]$

I tried upgrading to the newest version of ncurses, but that didn't seem to install.
[root@localhost royal]# rpm -Uvh ncurses-6.3-4.src.rpm
1:ncurses ########################################### [100%]
[root@localhost royal]# rpm -qa | grep ncurses
ncurses-5.3-4
ncurses-devel-5.3-4

Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks.

I also just noticed, when trying to use the command "clear" in konsole, I get this error...

[root@localhost royal]# clear
clear: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[root@localhost royal]#

I rebooted cause I also updated my kernel.

Now when i tried to do -Uvh, it said something about dependencies of the ncurses-devel and not just completely ignoring the -Uvh like before.

So i decided to do a force upgrade on ncurses, then did a force upgrade on ncurses-devel. Now everything is working perfectly.
