Trouble opening a program with a GUI using Konsole

Often when I try to open a program with a GUI under Konsole it says...

Code:
root@4[Jo]# quanta
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

quanta: cannot connect to X server :0.0
Eh?

1- Don't use root
2- As user, type xhost localhost
3- You can launch graphical programs as root

...or, apt-get install sux

Instead of using su to get root, use sux, it will allow you to run gui apps
