display adapter


hi all,,

first problem
i just instaled redhat rel 3 upgrade 4 ES
but i faced aproblem when i finsihed the instlation no graphical displayed on my screen
i think i have aproblem in the dispaly adapter driver

sconde
i need to make shred folder to copy some files from redhat to Windows server by my network .as i do in any windows server
thnx to all
could any expert guy help me to solve this problem

First problem: You need to provide information, such as what actual errors you're getting, and what hardware you're using. Saying "i faced a problem", doesn't give us much to go on.

Second problem: No idea what you mean by "shred" folder. Do you mean a folder that shreds (deletes) documents that are put in it? Or do you mean SHARED? If you mean shared, create any folder you want. Again, you don't provide enough information...do you want to share it to other Linux systems, or to Windows systems too? Linux only: share it via NFS. For Windows, you need to run Samba, and export the folder there.

Also, RHEL3 is VERY old. If this is a fresh installation, I'd strongly suggest getting the latest RedHat EL....

explain my problems

thank you Mr TB0ne for your replay

the first problem when i finished inslation to the redhat 3 ES on my labtop (dell) cpu 1.6MHZ, ram 512MHZ ,HDD 80 GB, VGA 128 MHZ Intel 915 express ) and in the last step in instalation Procedures linx say my dispaly adapter as S3 4 MHZ ,then linux reboot after that i cant see any thing in my monitore its black
i tried to disapleto check the display adapter but no work


for the second problem i faced

i need to copy some files from linux server to windows sever by creating files as shared files to copy this files from linux server to another windows server .


for your comment why i used old relase (redhat) 3

i have call center project in my company from avaya communication system
this Recommend to instal this relase to instla Application called (Witness Contact Store)and this server contact with CMS (Communication Manager System )
