could i update rh9 to fc 3?

now i have fc3 cd-rom,on my computer,there exists rh9,so i wanna update rh9 from fc3.could i make it effect?

Well updating according to me as I know is not possible from RH 9.0 to FC3 as they are different versions

but yesterday i had my rh9 updated to fc1 ,it makes effect
but it can only support utf8,when i typed iocharset=cp936 or iocharset=gb2312,copdepage=936.
it could not display chinese normally,all is quwstion mark?
does fc1 can only support utf8?
does rh9 caan both support uft8 and gb 2312 or cp936?
now i regret having my rh9 updated to fc1.
