I am looking for help with configuring the DNS server for a network I have created running a number of virtual machines (using VMware). For the DNS server I am running Red Hat and have configured the appropriate files to set up the server, I assume(I have configured the zone files and named.conf, and I checked resolv.conf and they all look ok). When I ping a machine on the network from the computer running the server I have no problem. But if a client tries to ping the DNS server computer I get an "unknown host" message. Can anyone direct me to where the root of the problem might be? Full answers aren't necessary ... any guidance is greatly appreciated.

We solved the problem. It was a matter of firewalls in fact. thanks!
