CentOS install


After installing the Centos 4.3 for the first time it asks me for localhost login and a password. i dont know what to put for this and it wont let me type in a password either.

you entered root a password when you first installed it, and it also should have insisted on creating a non-root user too. either one of those paris of credentials should be just fine to get going.

Yes I created the admin password but what do I use as the login name that it asks for... and when I try to type in a password it wont type it?

as above, it's the "root" password. and just because it doesn't show *'s or anything, doesn't mean it's not being read. you shouldn't use the root password though as again you will have been asked to create a normal user as part of the install, where you chose both the username and the password.
