AVG Free on RH ES4 Why cant i make it work

I tried to install the latest AVG antivirus on a RH ES4
and the installation process did not finish.

It says something during the installation.

Package Not Found Unlocatable Package.

pygtk2.0
pygtk2.0-libglade

Required by (avgflm, 'r28', ,'a0757' )

I tried looking for the package on the net but cannot find the exact package

Can anyone be kind enough to give me an idea where to find the exact package ?

Thanks

try using the command
yum install pygtk2
and use the same to install the libglade package too.

to search for rpms try rpmfind.net

both packages are provided by red hat (of course, this assumes you have a paid subscription). should be able to install with up2date.

Question

i tried to find the specific package on rpmfind.net tried to narrow down my search however most of the rpm's distribution are specific mostly for mandriva.

Also i have noticed that their is already a installed pygtk on my platoform but its a higher version. and yes the said distribution im using is uptodate.

Do you think AVG needs that specfic ? rpms ?

pygtk2.0
pygtk2.0-libglade

pygtik is installed ..

bash-3.00$ rpm -qa | grep -i pygtk
pygtk2-libglade-2.4.0-1
pygtk2-devel-2.4.0-1
pygtk-0.6.9-3
pygtk2-2.4.0-1
bash-3.00$

I just really wonder why AVG is still looking for pygtk even i have it installed

The same happened to me with Fedora and the problem was that I downloaded the WRONG RPM!. There are three RPMs, one for Mandriva, one for RedHat based distros, and another for SUSE.

If you click and download the first (which has an 'm' in the filename and is thus packaged for mandriva) and attempt to install it on RedHat/Fedora distros, you get the error message that you state.

Look at my article over here, it's all explained.

www dot theinquirer dot net, article number 36264.
