Analyzing vmcore generated by netdump

Hello,

I have a HP Proliant Bl35p server running RHEL WS 4 u5. It was crashing frequently. I configured it as a netdump client and during last crash it has generated a "vmcore" also. But I have no idea how to analyze it. I only know that "crash" utility can be used to analyze but couln't figure out how and also I don't know how to read / understand the output.

I'll be really gratefull if someone can guide me or point me to some guides/tutorials etc.

Thanks,
Anindra

Start by reading this. Also have a look at the whitepaper in the references at the bottom.

Thanks for the reply. However I was unable to use crash because kernel-debuginfo package was not installed. Now it is working fine. Thanks again.
