Any Netdump gurus out there?
Is there a way to have netdump ONLY send actual crash dumps (vmcore) and not the kernel message log files?
My Netdump server is accumulating hundreds of dump directories from various servers with only a log file in them. I know the program(s) generating these kernel messages and for now, can do nothing about them. I am only interested in the core files and do not want netdump to even bother sending the log file unless it also has a corresponding vmcore file (if at all).
Leaving SYSLOGADDR unset will not do this.
Is there a way to configure it (without hacking/rebuilding netdump myself) to have the netdump clients not generate these log files? Again, I only care about the vmcore files when they are generated.
I currently have scripts to remove these directories that only have a log file and no vmcore, but I'm running into problems with system time going out of sync with netdump enabled and when oodles of kernel messages are being processed. Again, these messages are not important to me.
Thanks!
