Hi,
I am impressed with puppy linux, and am considering it very favourably as my XP replacement because all my stuff has worked with puppy MUCH easier and quicker than with any other linux flavours I have tried.
That said, there is one thing I am trying to get working before jumping in with both feet. I am currently running a live cd of precise puppy.
Under XP I had a suprisingly easy time setting up softether vpn (
http://www.softether.org) for accessing my home network when away from home. I'd like to do the same on puppy but I think my lack of linux experience is holding me back. I need to know how to install the softether client file onto puppy.
I have downloaded the appropriate client file, namely: softether-vpnclient-v4.10-9473-beta-2014.07.12-linux-x86-32bit.tar.gz from the d/l site and have unzipped it to get a directory with a 'makefile' in it.
My understanding is that I need to run the 'make' command which will use the 'makefile' as a script to do the installation. When I attempt to run 'make' however, I get a command not found error. Attempts to find a 'make' package installer in the native puppy package manager have so far proven fruitless or I am not recognizing what I am seeing.
Some advice on what I need and how to proceed would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian H.
