Writting an OS in C++

Hello all,
any body know of an operating system thats written in c++? And if not, why do programmers reckon that c++ is not good for OS development, and instead prefer C?

There are several OS's written in C++ (Symbian for example).

To see some Linux programmer banter check out this kernel trap entry.

In general, when most of the popular OSS OS's were started GCC was a horid C++ compiler.
