what is the standard name ?

Hi All,

I have few doubts in understanding the basics of the character encoding set, could you please help me with the following questions

What is the ISO number given to UTF8 character encoding set? Is that ISO - 10646 ?

Can UTF8 character encoding set be termed as 8-bit UCS ( Universal Character Set ) ?

Or is UTF8 one of the encoding form of UCS, where UCS being more like a superset and UTF8 derived from it ?

Thanks

This shows how UTF8, UTF16 and ISO 10646 are related -they are not identical. It is a transformational reference.

Forgot to add this

If you search the RFC's you can usually find a lot of this kind of thing.
